Answer: Hi. I didn't have that experience. If there was a smell (which I honestly cannot recall), it was gone in a wash. I used conditioner too and these bibs are fab. I use it every day for my little guy. The pocket is great. It really catches a lot of food. I have 3 and would highly recommend. You won't regret it. -

Answer: Probably not. It's a good fit on my 14mth old, and she might squeeze into it at 2, but you wouldn't get much use.
