Answer: Battery only unless you buy a separate mains adaptor. -

Answer: If your Audiobooks are on Cassette yes. But I'd highly recommend finding an old high quality one which has been serviced. -

Answer: Sure. It will produce a low quality, muffled sounding recording of voice if you hold it close to your face. Any further than arms length and it struggles to pick up any sound at all. -

Answer: No it doesn’t and the cassette playback often is distorted and slow. You really get what you pay for here. -
