- The masterpiece of world poetry, Divine Comedy, epics a dream trip Dante made to Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. Divine Comedy is the longest-running poem in the history of poetry, with a total number of lines reaching 14233. Dante's journey, which started on Thursday night, April 7, 1300, lasted a week, and Dante was guided by the Latin poet Vergilius throughout his journey to Hell and Purgatory. At the top of Purgatory, Vergilius gives way to Beatrice, who will guide Dante in Heaven. When Dante sees Beatrice for the first time, he is nine and Beatrice is eight. Just as Dante remained loyal to Beatrice throughout his life, Beatrice also became an inspiration to the world of thought. Another feature is that Divine Comedy, which is modeled on Vergilius' Aeneid epic and can be considered as an elegy for extraordinary love in a surrealist environment supported by mythology, history and sacred texts, is an encyclopedia ranging from history and philosophy to theology, from astronomy to geometry.
