The M-Audio Oxygen 49 MKV is a USB MIDI keyboard controller with velocity-sensitive pads, Smart Chord/Scale modes and an arpeggiator. The keys have a plastic look and feel but have a satisfactory performance. The layout of the keyboard has a good amount of space to create and control music. Smart Chord/Scale modes and arpeggiator are useful features. The preset editor software is missing but it has been recently released and there is now a software update available making the Oxygen Keyboard MKV recommended. The software packet included is weak. Knobs and faders feel good to use, which is great for those on a budget. There is a learning curve with the controller and the documentation is only average.
