Paperback Books in foreign languages Editorial Review
Petit pays: roman is a poignant narrative that takes readers to Burundi before the chaos of war changes everything. The author, Gaël Faye, paints a vivid picture of childhood innocence through Gabriel's eyes, showcasing his joyful life with his French father and Rwandan mother amidst a surrounding world that is on the brink of destruction. This beautifully written book, published by Grasset & Fasquelle, is not only a reflection on the fragility of peace but also on the harsh realities of growing up against the backdrop of historical genocide. It's a recommended read for anyone who values deep storytelling with emotional resonance.
