KEEN Utility Men's Braddock Mid Soft Toe Waterproof Work Boots are designed to be used as a work boot, but the tread would be okay for hiking. The boots come with a one year guarantee against manufacturing and material defects if purchased from Netrush. The boots are not synthetic leather; they are made of a sturdy leather material. The Braddock's used to have an integrated heel cushion for extra support, but the insoles can now be used with aftermarket insoles or orthotics. The Braddock does have a shank which is made of a nylon material. The quality and comfort of the boots are good, but it is recommended to get them in person to ensure the proper size. Some customers are happy with their purchase, stating that they are the most comfortable work boots they have ever worn, while others report that one boot was noticeably smaller than the other, and the quality had gone downhill.
