How long do you have to be out of house?
Answer: If you are going to use this product, NOBODY human, nor ANY PET should be in house for at least 4 hours, & afterwards I would suggest to air out dwelling thoroughly before people/pets return to dwelling. HOWEVER, I would not feel right about sending my answer without adding that I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. Raid products (such as these specific type of foggers) used to work much better in years past, I have no idea if the product changed, or fleas have simply become immune, but that said, this product was a complete waste of my money, it did NOTHING to help our flea issues as promised, & I had to then put out more money to solve the issue... Good Luck -

Answer: I didn't throw away that type of food, just made sure that everything was closed up tight, inner bags, etc. Rewashed all dishes, along with ceiling to floor cleaning. -
