How do I set these traps?
Answer: Move the metal rod held by the circular screw eye so that it points away from the trap. Pull the spring loaded metal "bail" to the opposite end of the wooden base. Hold it there (it will be under a good bit of tension) and put the metal rod mentioned previously under the "V" notch punch-out on the rectangular trip piece at center. Smear peanut butter on trip as bait. Keep your fingers clear of the metal bail or you may get whacked! Handle trap by edges of the wooden base. Requires a bit of touch to set and is easily tripped...be careful. If that fails, get some glue traps and bait with peanut butter so the mouse has to walk through the glue. I have caught them both ways. -
