Botley works fine on most surfaces including carpet, but the black line following feature only works when the line is between 4mm to 10mm thick. The set is easy to assemble and operate, appropriate for children 3 years and older. Unfortunately, some users complained of receiving a defective product. Botley is powered by five AAA batteries and is made in China.
