The Vacmaster VP230 is a heavy, high-quality chamber style vacuum sealer with adjustable temperature and cooling, adjustable speed/vacuum and built-in suction and sealing timers. It has a maximum depth of approximately 5 5/16". However, it does not work with retort bags or have an axillary vacuum port for quart mason jars. The machine can hold a 4lb whole chicken and comes with approximately 25 bags of various sizes. The VP230 is designed for individual bags and not multiple bags due to its single seal bar. Customers have used it to seal broth and other liquids successfully. Its key pros are its high-quality, consistent vacuum pressure from its oil pump, build quality and efficient sealing process, which is easier than other vacuum sealers that become unwieldy with heavy use. However, a downside to the VP230 is that it is expensive and heavy, and some customers have reported difficulties with its warranty coverage.
