Van Morrison (Artist, Composer, Performer) Format: Vinyl Glam Editorial Review
The Moondance Deluxe reissue has garnered much appreciation from fans and collectors alike, highlighting the meticulous attention to detail in its production. Steven Wilson's remixes have been praised for their enhancement of depth and range, providing listeners with a fresh yet respectful take on Van Morrison's classic album. The inclusion of two additional LPs featuring outtakes enriches the overall experience, allowing both dedicated fans and newcomers a rare opportunity to delve deeper into the artist's creative process. Pressing at Optimal in Germany has resulted in a high-quality sound that is complemented by Kevin Gray's exceptional cut, offering a significant improvement over previous versions, particularly the 2008 reissue. The overall packaging is thoughtfully designed; it maintains a light feel despite the three LPs housed within, thus avoiding a cumbersome presentation. The extensive notes included also contribute to a more immersive listening experience, making this reissue not just a product but a comprehensive homage to Van Morrison's work. Overall, while this Deluxe edition stands out as a worthwhile addition for any vinyl collection, some buyers caution that there might be other albums that could take precedence on their purchase list. Nonetheless, it strikes a perfect balance between novelty and nostalgia, ideal for anyone looking to reconnect with classic vinyl through a beloved album. **
